Less waste, More Savings.
Bitezar started in Austin, Texas, as an idea to fight the excessive food waste that occurs year after year across the entire grocery industry. Our main goal is to empower communities to save more and waste less resources. We are able to achieve this by partnering with grocery and convenience stores to rescue food items that would otherwise end up in a landfill.
During this process, we are able to help merchants maximize their revenue by minimizing food waste due to spoilage, enable shoppers to access a wide variety of high-quality food options at a steep discount, and create a positive environmental impact.
We envision a future where everyone makes smarter, sustainable choices without breaking the bank. By making food more affordable and reducing waste, we help people save more, live better, and make a real difference for the planet. It is about creating a world where we all do our part, one small change at a time.
On one hand, 44 million people are living in poverty and hunger and 1 out of 8 households experiences food insecurity. On the other hand, 30 to 40% of the food supply goes to waste. This is the equivalent of around 80 million tons of food or around 149 billion meals.
From 2019 to 2025, essentials like produce, rice, chicken, and bread rose by 27-50%. In fact, recent surveys in Texas show that nearly 77% of polled individuals are struggling to afford groceries, citing that the cost of food is actually rising faster than their incomes.
We partner with local stores to bring fresh, nutritious food options to our app.
We make quality food available at a fraction of the price.
Every purchase helps reduce waste and protect the environment.
